"Santella" was established as a marketing company of the local fruit and vegetables production by Aniello and Nicola Santella, in 1966.

Put on the National Export-Trade Register in 1969, it started the processing and exportation of husked and unhusked walnuts and hazelnuts in the factory located in Palma Campania in the province of Naples.

In the ' 70 there was an increasing demand of dried fruit that led to the extension and enlargement of the business in the next ' 80 and consequently to the building of a new plant in the ' 90 to meet the requirements of a more demanding clientele.

The new premises are in Domicella (AVELLINO) an area rich in the production of walnuts and hazelnuts.

It is 14.0000 sq.m and it is the most powerful plant in Southern Italy for the manifacturing of hazelnuts such as: "Mortarelle", "Giffoni", "Tonde Napoli", "Lunghe Napoli" and of walnuts such as "Sorrento", "Vesuvio", "USA", etc.

It consist of various departments:

- a walnut unhusking department producing about 1.500 qs. a day;

- a storage department holding about 15.000 qs. of goods;

- a hazelnut unhusking department producing about 1.500 qs. a day;

- a package department for a daily production of 300 qs.;

- a conservation department with two cold stores;

- some warehouses.
